Martha’s Meals on Wheels Spaghetti Supper

  The annual Martha's Meals on Wheels Spaghetti Supper is scheduled for Sunday, October 29 at the Verona Moose Lodge at 1510 Commerce Road (Rt. 11 near EyeOne) from 4-6 PM. Spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert, and a gluten-free option are on the menu. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children, and children under 5 are free. Door prize drawings will also take place. Tickets are available from Martha Wilkerson, Sue Gochenour, or any board member. Martha's Meals on Wheels is funded solely by churches, local businesses and organizations, and personal donations. Operation Christmas Child

Again this year, we’ll be participating in “Operation Christmas Child.” Operation Christmas Child was started by Franklin Graham, Billy Graham’s son. Shoeboxes filled with items for boys and girls are shipped overseas to various places for underprivileged children. Shoeboxes will be available in the vestibule in a few weeks with instructions on what to fill them with, depending on the age and gender you select. Operation Thank You

During the month of October, the Presbyterian Women will be collecting items to send to Scott Dice (Melissa and Harry's son), who is stationed in Afghanistan.  Suggestions for items to donate include:  Beef jerky *, chips, Doritos*, cheese and peanut butter crackers, cheese puffs and cheetos*, or any snack food, peanut butter, salsa (plastic bottle), NON-chocolate candy (chocolate melts), cookies, magazines, paperbacks, shoe inner soles, foot powder, cards to send back home, packs of tissues, playing cards, puzzle books, small games, ink pens.
